Toward the New Year

A dear belly dancer friend told me I need a blog. Which means I haven't been using this one nearly enough. So, restarting!

I am very much looking forward to 2012. And there's still some 2011 left to prepare for it.

I think 2011 will be the last year I image DVD disks for belly dancer fotos. I am going to move to electronic media for foto distribution. Perhaps including online, but most definitely including SD/SDHC or other similar solid-state media. Disks are too slow, and have too little capacity. Obsolete, essentially.

Other changes I anticipate for my foto workflow include editing with iPad software tools, and moving away from "big iron" machines. My iMac will become a cycle server, for raw storage access to TB disk farms. And will be using the MacBook in a similar way, eventually deprecating it.
